Executive Chairman & Chief Executive Officer


Dato’ Syed Abu Hussin bin Hafiz Syed Abdul Fasal was appointed as Chief Executive Officer on 8 December 2010 and was designated as Executive Chairman on 19 January 2012. He started his career in Government Service in 1987, and by 1993 he reached the position of Director of the National Civic Bureau (Perak), Prime Minister’s Department.

After 1993, Dato’ Syed changed his career path to politics and serving the community, and between 2001-2005 he was elected the deputy head of the Bukit Gantang UMNO division.

After retiring from politics in 2005, Dato’ Syed concentrated on expanding his businesses principally involved in the manufacture and supply of halal food products, and transportation services (involving taxis, express coaches, and chartering of land-based transportation assets & specialty vehicles), and medical supplies, via various private limited companies. He is a Director of several subsidiaries of Gunung Capital Group and sits on the Boards of several private limited companies.





Executive Director

Mr Iskandar Ibrahim re-located to Malaysia in 1994 where he was employed by SJ Securities Sdn Bhd as an Investment Analyst in the Transport Sector. During this time, he was also a shareholder and finance director of Webster & Associates (S.E. Asia) Sdn Bhd (a family controlled biotechnology company).

In 1997, Mr. Iskandar joined Destination Marine Services Sdn Bhd (a high- speed composite patrol boat manufacturer/ contractor) as the financial controller and chief operations officer, where his duties included the financial & capital restructuring, and sale of the company, as well as management of the operations (shipyards) for the Central and Northern regions. Upon securing and completing numerous projects for Kastam DiRaja Malaysia, the Fire & Rescue Department, Polis DiRaja Malaysia, and Jabatan Laut Malaysia, Destination Marine Services Sdn Bhd was successfully sold to a Malaysian public company in 2003.

In 2004, Mr. Iskandar incorporated AAsia-East Capital Sdn Bhd, and wholly owned subsidiary AAsia Capital Partners Sdn Bhd, which initially focused on investing in, restructuring of, and subsequently managing of, various food-related manufacturing companies within Malaysia, including a ISO22000 certified Meal-Ready-to-Eat (MRE) manufacturer and rice mills in the northern region of Malaysia. Mr. Iskandar continues to be a director and major shareholder of AAsia-East Capital Sdn Bhd, and wholly owned subsidiary AAsia Capital Partners Sdn Bhd.


Independent Non-Executive Director

Dato’ Shaiful Annuar Bin Ahmad Shaffie was appointed as a Director on 14 September 2011. He started his career in the U.S.A with Jescorp Inc. in Elk Grove, Illinois as an Operations Manager in 1986 till 1992. Upon returning to Malaysia, he was appointed as a Local Consultant to a U.K based International Defense Company from 1994 till 2000.

Then in 2000 till 2004 he was again appointed as a Local Consultant to a French Multinational Defense Company. During his tenure in these two companies, he was involved in advisory and strategic operations for the Malaysian market. He was also the Special Assistant to Group Managing Director of Lankhorst Berhad in 1996 till 2002 and the General Manager-Group Operations for Goh Ban Huat Berhad in 2004 till 2008.

Currently, Dato’ Shaiful is the Group Executive Director of Persoft Group of Companies that involves in I.T and Managing Director of Bumiteknokrat Sdn. Bhd that does investment and trading.




Senior Independent Non-Executive Director

Mr Peter Wong Hoy Kim was appointed to the Board on 7 November 2003. He is a member of the Audit Committee, Nomination Committee and Remuneration Committee of the Company. He is an ex-Banker who was previously with HSBC Bank Malaysia Berhad for 33 years until his retirement in 1996 from the Bank’s Ipoh Branch where he was the Manager.

He underwent numerous training overseas in Hong Kong, U.S.A. and United Kingdom and has served in various other capacities in the Bank including, amongst others, Deputy Manager Credit Control and Manager Regional Credit, Peninsula North. His directorship in other public companies is in Latexx Partners Berhad and he sits on the board of several private limited companies.



Independent Non-Executive Director

Dato’ Rosli bin Sharif had served with the Government of Malaysia in various capacities at the Treasury Department of the Accountant General’s Office, Accountant at the Department of Civil Aviation and as the State Treasurer of Negeri Sembilan from 1980 to 1982. Since 1982, he had served as a Director in private limited companies involving in construction and property development.

He joined Cement Industries of Malaysia Berhad (CIMA) in 1988 as the Group Finance Manager and was subsequently promoted to General Manager, then Chief Operating Officer and Managing Director in 2002. Between 1998 to 2005, he led CIMA to grow its business and in particular involved to acquire and restructure Negeri Sembilan Cement Industries Sdn Bhd, which resulted in CIMA expanding its production capacity and market share especially in Singapore. He was the Chairman of the Cement and Concrete Association of Malaysia from 1998 to 2000. In 2006, he was appointed as the Senior Director of International Business West Asia at UEM Group Berhad and from 2009 to 2011, he was the Senior Director, Corporate Services of UEM Group Berhad.

He was the Independent Non-Executive Director of Konsortium Logistik Berhad, a public listed company from 2011 to 2013. He was also the Managing Director of another public company from 2012 to 1 February 2017.
